Kearny BST alumni, Melissa Vargas, a computer science major at the University of San Diego, highlights the power of technology to connect people with their heritage and culture. Her work with the Jacobs Institute for Innovation in Education, and its eSPAC3 project, brings together culture and technology. Creating a Minecraft Edu world that celebrates Latinidad, allows students to learn about computationally rich careers and technology, along with cultural awareness in an innovative, colorful way.
